Guides / VPN for remote work — cafés, coworking, and home offices
Using a VPN while working remotely
Remote work often means unfamiliar networks. A VPN adds an encrypted path for your device traffic. It does not replace company SSO, disk encryption, or your employer’s approved tools.
Good fit for personal device traffic
On café or coworking Wi‑Fi, connect 4U before opening mail, docs, or admin panels on your personal phone or tablet. Prefer HTTPS and keep the OS updated.
Check with your employer
Some companies require their own corporate VPN or block third-party VPNs on managed devices. Follow your workplace policy first. 4U is a consumer VPN for lawful personal privacy use.
Session length tip
- Free session is timed (~10 hours) — plan reconnects or Premium for long workdays
- If the VPN drops, reconnect before continuing sensitive tasks
- Do not assume a VPN hides activity from sites after you log in
Not a substitute for corporate security policy or MDM requirements.
