Guides / No-logs VPN — what 4U collects and what it does not
Understanding 4U’s logging and privacy approach
“No logs” is a marketing phrase that needs precision. Here is how 4U describes data handling — always check the live Privacy Policy for the authoritative text.
What we aim not to keep
4U is designed around data minimization. We do not aim to store browsing history, connection destination logs that identify what you visited, or lasting profiles of your online activity.
Temporary technical data
To keep the service running and troubleshoot issues, a short-lived session record may exist while you are connected (for example a random session identifier and internal addressing). That kind of technical data is deleted on a short cycle — measured in hours, not months.
Device details needed for the connection may be visible only while you are connected and are not kept as a lasting usage archive after disconnect.
Premium email and payments
If you subscribe, an email may be used for account and multi-device access. Card payments go through Apple or Google; 4U does not store your full payment card data.
Ads on the free tier
The free app may show ads (for example via AdMob). Ad networks can process limited device information under their own policies, and you may see consent choices for personalized ads where required.
Legal requests
If a valid legal request arrives, 4U can only work with data it actually retains. Minimal retention means many activity questions simply cannot be answered from stored records. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
